According to Official data no major law and order situation was witnessed in Kashmir since January 1 this year.

J&K, a first-of-its-kind initiative by the government embarked on the ambitious ‘Back to Village’ programme last year to reach out to the people at grassroots level.

J&K and Ladakh were declared Open Defecation Free in the month of September 2018, quite one year in advance.

The 9-phase Jammu and Kashmir Panchayati Raj Elections in 2018 witnessed a record voter turnout of 74.1 per cent.

The Lieutenant Governor Girish Chandra Murmu approved a programme for hundred percent Macadamisation of all roads in J&K including.

The Government has empowered the Panchayat representatives to directly implement various centrally sponsored developmental works.

Most of the projects under Back to Village Scheme are focused on Water Conservation and Ground water harvesting in Kargil, Ladakh.
